Yeah, no we didn’t go to the beach…or the shore. Nor did we throw a pool party season opener with the rest of America. BUT we did have a fun relaxing weekend with family, friends and a client shoot to boot!

Delaware may be small, but its location is pretty awesome. Short drive to the ocean and the mountains, hugs I95 and Amtrak, and a skip and a hop to a handful of state parks. We’ve always loved a good hike, but having two dogs ensures that we actually DO the hiking and not just talk about it. Plus, a tired puppy is the best kind of puppy 🙂

Friends of ours down the street also have a dog and love outdoor activities so were happy to join us on a hike at Brandywine Creek State Park. The weather on Saturday was gorgeous. The rain and clouds finally parted and it was sunshine for a glorious few hours. Ellie, our new golden puppy, is just at the age where we can upgrade our loop around the neighborhood to a several mile hike. Several miles turned into 5, but she was a champ and loved every bit of it. Here are a few photos to recap the adventure.

Sunday afternoon we took another walk with the pups to a new ice cream shop in town, UDairy Creamery. Completely blew it on snapping a photo of the actual ice cream, but oh man was it delicious. Plus, one “scoop” was more like a pint on an ice cream cone. It was so good I’ll have to redo this effort. It deserves its own post. I did manage to get a photo of Matt and the pups on the way back.
