Katie and Nick welcomed their first baby into the world, James Joseph DelDotto. When you think of a beautiful newborn, think of James. Talk about the cuteness! Holy smokes. I think if they don’t submit his photo to Gerber Baby, I might have to!

Newborn sessions are one of my favorite kinds of photography. Yes, helloooo, new baby! Yet it’s so fun to watch new parents, of course exhausted, but completely over the moon with more love than they could ever imagine. Even though sleep deprived and dealing with the worry that comes with figuring it all out for the first time, the new parents are so patient with each other and kind. Katie and Nick were no exception. It probably makes a difference when you start with genuinely nice people AND not to mention that they both went to UVA in Charlottesville! My hometown 🙂

James’ nursery was just as sweet, from the hanging clouds to the lion and fox stuffed animals (Nick’s favorite!) to the hand painted sign. There’s no other way to describe it other than perfect little baby boy sweetness.
